Despite both singles and doubles victories by senior Jocelyn Davis and junior Alexa Lee, the Cal Poly womens tennis team fell 4-3 to North Texas in a match hosted by Arizona at Robson Tennis Center on Sunday.
The Mustangs (4-4), which lost to the Wildcats on Saturday, got a doubles victory from the team of Davis and Lee, but Kathryn Webb and Ané McPike fell 8-5 in their match and Cal Poly forfeited the No. 3 doubles set.
Gabrielle Gatewood was the other singles winner for the Mustangs.
COLLEGE GOLF
The Cal Poly women are fifth and the Mustangs men are eighth after the first of three rounds of the Folino Invitational hosted by Cal State Fullerton at the Industry Hills Golf Course at Pacific Palms Resort.
The women were led by Taylor Yoshitake, who shot a 76 and is tied for 11th place. Asia Adell and Morgan Thomas each shot 77.
The mens top scorer was Grant Martens, who shot a 77 and is tied for 24th place. Justin Haley and Bryce Greeley followed with 78s, followed by Trevor Guthrie with a 79.
