A man and woman have been arrested in Paso Robles after allegedly using methamphetamine while sharing a hotel room with the womans 9-year-old son, authorities say.
On Tuesday, San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Narcotics Unit detectives first arrested Clyde Cody Roberts, 22, of San Miguel, at Avalon Motel on Spring Street on two $15,000 local warrants and also charged him with sales of meth.
During the investigation, detectives determined that Roberts shared a room with Shanna Diane Calderwood, 34, who had been living at the hotel for several months, according to Sheriffs Office spokesman Rob Bryn.
There was evidence of meth use inside the room. As a precaution, the boy was tested for exposure to methamphetamine, and lab tests returned positive on Wednesday morning. Narcotics detectives returned to the motel and arrested Calderwood on child endangerment charges.
Her son was turned over to Child Protective Services.
Both remain in County Jail with bail for Calderwood set at $100,000 and for Roberts at $55,000.
