Sheriff’s detectives are investigating the attempted homicide of a 23-year-old Oceano man that occurred early today.

Although details are scant, the Sheriff's Office said the man, who had multiple stab wounds, was admitted to Arroyo Grande Hospital Community Hospital sometime around 2 a.m.

First reports “suggest” the man was stabbed inside a vehicle somewhere on Highway 101, according to a sheriff's news release. He has a no-bail felony warrant for probation violation.

The victim is listed in critical but stable condition, after emergency surgery.
