An earlier version of this story misstated Andrew Guy Pratt's age. He is 47.
UPDATE 4:35 p.m.: Andrew Guy Pratt also worked as an umpire for the city of Atascaderos adult softball league from August 2009 until November 2010, said Brady Cherry, director of the citys community services department. Pratt was an independent contractor, he said.
From April 2006 to November 2010, Pratt also worked as a driver for First Transit, a Cincinnati-based company that contracts with Atascadero to provide public transit services including Dial-A-Ride. He was terminated when he stopped reporting for work, said spokeswoman Jen Biddinger.
She said a background check conducted on Pratt before he was initially hired came back clean. Periodic checks done throughout his tenure also came back clean, she added.
UPDATE 12 p.m. Friday: A board member of Atascadero Girls Softball confirmed that Andrew Guy Pratt, who has been indicted on five counts of receipt and possession of child pornography, served as an umpire for the league.
Board member Cassie Kennett said she could not comment any further on Pratts involvement with Atascadero Girls Softball. Its unclear when and for how long Pratt had served as an umpire.
Original story: A 47-year-old San Luis Obispo County resident has been arrested by the FBI and indicted on five counts of receipt and possession of child pornography.
Andrew Guy Pratt was arrested Tuesday following a joint investigation by the county Sheriffs Office and the FBI that began Aug. 13, 2010. He appeared in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles and was subsequently released on bail.
The Sheriffs Office initially began the investigation, according to sheriffs spokesman Rob Bryn, and then turned the case over to the FBI after it was determined, according to Pratts indictment, that he had knowingly received pornography dealing with 6- and 7-year-old girls on his home computer, violating interstate and foreign commerce laws.
