Teaberry Frozen Yogurt Café, a locally owned and operated frozen treats and sandwich shop, is open for business in downtown San Luis Obispo.
The café, at 847 Higuera St., offers several styles of soft-serve frozen yogurt, gelato and custard along with espresso drinks and sandwiches. Baked goods and shaved ice will soon be added to the menu.
One of the most popular items is Teaberrys all-natural Greek-style frozen yogurt, said Tom Stennett, café owner. Many of the choices are nonfat and contain no trans fats or hydrogenated oils, he said, adding that the yogurt is kosher certified.
Four employees have been hired so far. More are expected to be hired as warmer weather approaches and the demand for cool treats increases.
