The Cal Poly men’s basketball team lost for the fourth time in six games Thursday night, this time falling to Cal State Fullerton 83-61 on a night where they played arguably their worst defense of the season.
The Mustangs (13-10, 4-6 Big West Conference) gave up season-highs in points, field goals (31), 3-pointers (10) and assists (19) to the Titans (14-7, 6-3 Big West).

Will Taylor had a game-high 10 points for Cal Poly, the only Mustang to score in double figures. Will Donahue and Jordan Lewis added nine each off the bench.
Fullerton blew the game open early with a 17-2 run midway through the first half.
The Titans were led by D.J. Seeley, who scored 28 points on 9-for-11 shooting from the floor and a perfect 7 for 7 at the free-throw line. Fullerton shot 57 percent as team.
The Mustangs’ 3-point shooting woes continued, as they shot just 3 of 11 from behind the arc.
David Hanson grabbed six rebounds in the game, the most of any Cal Poly player, but no one else for the Mustangs had more than three.
The Mustangs wrap up their four-game road trip at Bakersfield on Saturday at 7 p.m.
