Crews respond to crash on Highway 46 east of Old Creek Road

CHP and Cal Fire officials have responded to a report of a vehicle crash on Highway 46, near the summit of the route from Paso Robles to the coast and about four miles east of Old Creek Road.

The call came in about 4:20 p.m. of a vehicle that dropped about 100 yards over the side of the roadway, according to Cal Fire and the CHP traffic incident reporting website.

Cal Fire officials received a report that the driver was not injured but needed help getting out of the vehicle. CHP reported that Cal Fire would need to rappel down a steep hill, and an ambulance was dispatched to check the extent of any injuries.

It did not appear that anyone else was involved in the crash.
