A local man was in critical condition as of Tuesday evening after crashing his motorcycle into a building along Tank Farm Road in San Luis Obispo earlier that day, according to police.
Wyatt Chan, 20, is being treated at Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center after crashing his motorcycle just after 7 a.m., according to a San Luis Obispo Police Department news release.
Chan was headed west on Tank Farm when he drove off the road east of Long Street for reasons unknown, police said. He suffered major injuries after being thrown from the motorcycle.
A passerby found him around 7:12 a.m. and called 911, police said. Officers didnt find a helmet at the scene, so they arent sure whether Chan was wearing one.
No other vehicles are believed to have been involved in the crash, police said. Authorities believe the affected building was vacant.
