Actor Harrison Ford will be the guest star at a $400-a-ticket private reception by the Neptune Pool for 100 people, one of the highlights of the San Luis Obispo International Film Festival.
Ford, along with Hollywood photographer Timothy White, are scheduled to fly into the Hearst Ranch airfield about 5 p.m. March 9 and lead a motorcade of vintage cars to the hilltop for cocktails and appetizers, followed by a showing of Whites work in the Hearst Castle movie theater.
Tickets ($750 per pair, or $400 for a single ticket) are expected to go on sale Jan. 23 at the festival website, http://www.slofilmfest.org, or by phone at 546-3456.
Ford is to present White with the festivals inaugural Spotlight Award at a reception for 400 people at the Hearst Castle Visitor Center at 7:30 p.m., followed by a showing of Citizen Kane. The award is intended to highlight key filmmaking figures who work behind the scenes, giving them a moment in the spotlight.
White is a longtime friend and colleague of Ford. The presentation is not connected to the showing of the film, other than to make a special evening even more so.
Tickets ($50) to the later reception, which includes wine tasting and light appetizers, also go on sale Jan. 23. Proceeds benefit the Friends of Hearst Castle nonprofit group, which helps pay for restoration, educational and other programs at the monument.
The San Luis Obispo International Film Festival runs from March 7 to 11.
