The Arroyo Grande High boys basketball team defeated Paso Robles 70-52 on Friday night behind Brent VanderVeen’s 17 points, 10 rebounds and five assists.
Matt Willkomm had 17 points and four assists for the Eagles (11-8, 4-1 PAC 7), and Gunnar Gomez added 14 points and five assists.

Josh Murry-Wilson had a game-high 29 points for the Bearcats (6-11, 1-3 PAC 7). Rudy Binkele contributed eight points for Paso Robles.
St. Joseph 69, San Luis Obispo 63
The Knights overcame a fourth-quarter deficit to defeat the Tigers (8-8, 1-3 PAC 7).
Matt Moore led the Tigers with 24 points, and Scott Inman added 13.
The duo of Bebe Vargas and Keith Datu combined for 47 points for St. Joseph (12-6, 2-2 PAC 7).
Morro Bay 62, Santa Maria 22
Bryce Owens and Marcus Zorovich each scored 16 points, and Scott Milligan added 10 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Pirates (11-8, 4-1 LPL) to the home victory.
Zorovich also had six assists.
Morro Bay led 20-4 after one quarter and cruised from there against the Saints (2-15, 0-5).
Lompoc 64, Nipomo 56
The Titans (5-14, 2-3 LPL) fell short against the Braves (3-10, 3-1 LPL).
Scott Nichols had a game-high 25 points and four 3-pointers for Nipomo. Ryan McNeil added 11 points for Nipomo.
Cabrillo 63, Templeton 48
Despite holding a two-point halftime lead, the Eagles (6-12, 3-2 LPL) were defeated by the Conquistadores.
Kacey Dakin led Templeton with 14 points, and Eric Fragione and Andy Garretson each added eight points.
After a back-and-forth contest in the first half, Cabrillo (8-7, 5-1) broke away behind efficient 3-point shooting from Chad Broadhead and Henry Fienga, who each made three.
No. Co. Christian 66, Cuyama Valley 38
The Crusaders (6-8, 4-2 CVL) defeated the Bears while outscoring Cuyama Valley 66-26 in the first three quarters.
Daniel Katches led North County Christian with 19 points, and Austin Weimenn added 14.
Coast Union 53, Shandon 17
The Broncos (7-5, 4-1) dominated the Outlaws (0-6, 0-4), led by Quinten Raethke’s 16 points. Alan Hernandez added eight points for the Broncos.
Arroyo Grande 55, Paso Robles 28
The Eagles (13-5, 5-0 PAC 7) shut down the Bearcats (8-9, 1-3 PAC 7), allowing just two players to score as Arroyo Grande dominated at home.
Brianna Flood, Heather Madrigal and Lindsey Wolf all scored 12 points for the Eagles, and Emma Weinreich added 11.
Molly Donovan had 24 points to lead the Bearcats.
Lompoc 60, Nipomo 57, OT
The Titans (1-16, 1-4 LPL) lost to the Braves in a close overtime battle.
Tess Latimer led Nipomo with 18 points, and Taylor Nevitt and Diana Kirchezsky each added 10.
With less than two seconds left in regulation and a one-point lead, Nipomo committed a foul that allowed Lompoc to tie the score with a free throw and send it to overtime.
Lompoc (5-11, 3-2 LPL) outscored Nipomo 9-6 in overtime to win it.
Morro Bay 55, Santa Maria 25
Hannah Gilbert had 18 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Pirates (12-3, 5-0 LPL) past the Saints (3-15, 2-3 LPL) on the road.
Carli Watt added 11 points, and Sierra Schwellenbach had nine points and eight steals for Morro Bay.
Templeton 65, Cabrillo 25

Coastal Christian 43, Maricopa 32
Amy Arnold’s game-high 17 points led the Conquerors (3-5, 3-2 CVL) over the Indians.
Coastal Christian’s Isabella Unger added 10 points, and Roni Garrison scored eight.

The Crusaders (6-1, 5-1 CVL) allowed just four points in the first half on their way to blowing out the Bears.
Brianna Feld led North County Christian with a game-high 12 points and three assists, while Alexandria Wisberg added game highs in rebounds (12) and steals (5).
San Luis Obispo 10, St. Joseph 0
Paul Sullivan had three goals and two assists, Matthew Connely and Trevor James each had two goals and one assist and the Tigers (11-1-2, 4-0 PAC 7) cruised past the Knights at home.
Righetti 4, Atascadero 1
The Warriors scored four first-half goals, including two in the first seven minutes, to defeat the Greyhounds (3-10-2, 1-4 PAC 7).
After trailing 3-0, Raul Lopez scored Atascadero’s lone goal, assisted by David Ramirez.
But five minutes later, Righetti scored its final goal and pushed its lead back to three.
Paso Robles 1, Arroyo Grande 0
Daniel Viramontes’ 10th-minute goal was all the Bearcats (9-2-5, 3-1-0 PAC 7) needed to defeat the Eagles.
Goalie Junior Rodriguez had three saves in his shutout performance.
Arroyo Grande (8-9-2, 2-3 PAC 7) outshot Paso Robles 12-4.
Righetti 5, Atascadero 0
The Greyhounds (10-6-1, 1-4 PAC 7) were shut out on the road.

Nadine Reed had two goals for Arroyo Grande (12-6, 4-1 PAC 7), which also had goals from Carley Chandless, Lupita Leon, and Loren Dean.
Goalkeeper Makayla Allen had five saves for the Eagles.
San Luis Obispo 1, St. Joseph 1, tie
Kiley Norkus scored in the first half for the only goal for San Luis Obispo (4-3-3, 3-0-1 PAC 7). Sydney Knauer assisted on the goal.
