Former U.S. Rep. Andrea Seastrand has been named organizational development director of the San Luis Obispo Property and Business Owners Association.
The newly reorganized association has changed its name from the San Luis Obispo Property Owners Association.
Seastrand has spent most of her adult life in politics, from grassroots-level organizing in the 1960s to serving in the House of Representatives. She was elected to the state Assembly in 1990 and served two terms before a successful run for Congress in 1994.
In 1997, she was named the executive director of the California Space Authority. It was dissolved in June.
