The San Luis Obispo County Planning Commission unanimously and enthusiastically gave the go-ahead Thursday to a winery and tasting room on Peachy Canyon Road west of Paso Robles.
Don Law of Law Family Vineyards will receive a conditional use permit that will allow him to move forward with 36,000-square-foot multi-level wine production facility and tasting room at 3875 Peachy Canyon Road.
The facility will encompass every aspect of winemaking, including harvest, crushing, fermentation, barrel aging, blending, bottling, case storage and retail sales.
On build-out, the operation will produce as many as 10,000 cases annually.
Water will come from an on-site well.
Initial production will come from grapes grown in the family vineyard across the road from the new facility.
Law has proposed no special events, other than industry-wide events.
The land has been used for limited grazing and dry farming.
