For years, the longtime Grover Beach resident has spent much of her time helping organize events such as the Stone Soup Music Faire, which celebrated its 20th anniversary in August.
I am quite honored to be named Citizen of the Year, said Conner. I was told by my friend and current chair, Linda L. McClure of American Property Services, that I had been named the Citizen of the Year for 2011. She was excited to tell me, and I was quite surprised.
Conner was selected in recognition of the volunteer work she has done over the last several years at community events and in the chambers office.
The chambers annual dinner starts at 5:30 p.m. Friday at the Ramona Garden Park Center. Tickets are $50 per person.
The event helps mark the 50th anniversary of the Grover Beach chamber. To reserve a seat, call the chamber at 489-9091.
