A Chico State University student, who allegedly was behind the wheel in a car crash that killed two people in June in Avila Beach, waived his right to a preliminary hearing today. Evan Alexander Green, 21, chose not to contest the prosecution's allegations that sufficient evidence exists to proceed to trial the standard for advancing a case to trial.
Green has pleaded not guilty in San Luis Obispo County Superior Court to gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, driving under the influence of alcohol causing injury, and driving without a license. The two men who died were Aaron Beaver, 21, of Eureka and Marcus Nelson, 21, of Castro Valley, according to the Sheriff's Office.
