After an early takedown, Novachkov gave up two escapes before recording the winning escape early in the final period.
DesRoches, wrestling up one weight class at 184 pounds, earned a 13-4 major decision over Thomas Barreiro. DesRoches had five takedowns and one escape in the victory.
The Eagles won six of 10 matches, including a pin of the Mustangs Brandon Rocha by Corey Borshoff at 133 pounds.
Ryan Smith won for Cal Poly at 197 pounds with a 3-2 decision over Daniel Mitchell, and Dominic Kastl (174) had the final Mustang win with an 8-3 decision over Phillip Barreiro.
