The former Almond Blossom restaurant lot two miles north of Paso Robles on Highway 101 will become a 130-space recreational vehicle resort if the developer works his way through the county planning process successfully.
A hearing is scheduled for Thursday before the county Planning Commission for the proposal by Siempre Adelante LLC. The 11.67-acre resort would be at the northeast corner of Wellsona Road and Highway 101.
The corporation wants to convert an existing building into a clubhouse, as well as add a building that would incorporate an office, convenience market, laundry facility, exercise room and restroom.
The resort also would include two swimming pools, a playground and a barbecue area.
The 50-seat restaurant operated from 1982 to 2008. After its closure, the building was used as a church.
In its proposal, the developer told planners the park would include 130 RV spaces with full hookups to include electrical, water, sewer and Internet connections. It would have 19 pull-through spaces and 111 pull-in spaces.
Meeting Thursday
The Planning Commission meeting begins at 9 a.m. Thursday at the County Government Center, 1055 Monterey St. in San Luis Obispo.
