A woman was injured in a crash at the Oceano Dunes on Monday, according to the Five Cities Fire Department.
The woman, described in a news release only as a "middle aged female," was reported to have crashed her all-terrain vehicle with another ATV at the Oceano Dunes State Vehicular Recreation Area just before 4 p.m.
She was thrown to the sand and suffered "multiple traumatic injuries" in the crash, according to the news release. The other ATV driver was not hurt.
San Luis Ambulance medics treated her at the scene, but the woman was flown by a Calstar helicopter ambulance to Twin Cities Community Hospital in Templeton for treatment.
Authorities would not disclose the woman's name or any information about her, such as her condition.
