Paso Robles police are seeking a middle-aged man who used a note to rob the Walmart store about 7:30 Saturday night.
Witnesses said the suspect was in his 40s, about 5 feet 11 inches and weighing about 160 pounds, said Sgt. Tod Rehmer of the Paso Robles Police Department.
The man was last seen wearing a dark-blue hoodie sweatshirt with a white Adidas logo, blue jeans, a dark baseball cap and black shoes. He left the store on foot, but police did not say how he left the shopping center.
According to Rehmer, the man stood in the stores return line just off the main entrance to the Walmart at 180 Niblick Road, walked to the counter about 7:28 p.m. and handed a note to an employee demanding money.
He took an undisclosed amount of cash and the note, said Rehmer, who added that the entire interaction with the store employee lasted about 15 to 20 seconds.
We do have some witness information, and were pursuing leads, he said.
No weapon was seen and no one was hurt, Rehmer added.
The suspect walked past security cameras at the store entrance, which are under review. Police may release a photo of the suspect today, Rehmer said.
