The San Luis Obispo County Economic Vitality Corp., a regional economic development organization, is seeking input from local employers for a workforce housing survey.
The confidential information would be used to help homebuilders, planners and local government officials to make better and more informed decisions about the countys housing needs, according to the EVC.
The EVC is conducting the survey to:
Gather countywide input on current and future workforce housing needs.
Highlight circumstances that may impact housing selection.
Gauge consumer preferences for housing options.
The survey is part of the EVCs continuing effort to implement its economic strategy for the county, which aims to create long-term prosperity and job growth here.
More than 100 business leaders who aided in developing the strategy said that sufficient housing for employees is critical to the success of local companies and their ability to create jobs.
The deadline to participate in the survey is Friday.
