Cambrias Citizens of the Year for 2011 are super volunteers Terry and Jerri Farrell.
The couples contributions to the community include Jerri Farrell heading up the Friends of the Cambria Library since 2004, Terry Farrells efforts for American Legion Post No. 432, and organizing the Marine Corps and Cambrias Anonymous Neighbors Toys for Tots drive.
They also coordinated efforts to enhance the flagstand at the Veterans Memorial Building, support active-duty troops with packages and year-round remembrances, participate in the Community Emergency Rescue Team, and brought the Marine Corps band to the Pinedorado parade.
As one nominator wrote of the couple, They support about everything in town that starts with 503C, referring to one of the sections of tax law that makes nonprofit groups tax exempt.
The Farrells are to be honored during the Cambria Chamber of Commerces annual installation dinner Jan. 17, at the Cavalier Plaza in San Simeon.
The chamber also has announced recent election results for its board of directors.
New member Christopher Brazelton, of Porte House Gallery joins re-elected members Mel McColloch, of McColloch Consulting, Steve Kniffen, of Sea Chest Restaurant and Brittany Hensley, of The Cambrian.
Continuing members of the board are Marjorie Ott, of Olallieberry Inn, George Marschall, of Moonstone Hotels, Lee Putnam, of Hearst Castle Theater, Michael Thompson, of A Matter of Taste and Matt Van Weerden Poelman, of Lighthouse Litho.
