Holiday shoppers seeking oneof-a-kind gifts by local artisans and artists have several options in San Luis Obispo. Among them:

The annual Craft Arts Market at the San Luis Obispo Museum of Art, where creations include blown and fused glass, textiles, photography, painting, ceramics, wire, wood and more.

Tiny blown-glass salt and pepper shakers and vials and tree ornaments of blown glass or tiny hand-painted gourds are among the smallest offerings.

Clothing includes knitted caps from infant sizes to adults, handmade vests, jackets and tops, art T-shirts, knitted wraps and a variety of scarfs, from knitted to handdyed silk. Jewelry includes pendants, earrings, necklaces, bracelets, pins and watchbands, some with watches. Beads are a popular medium. Home decor items are cloth wall hangings, plaques of clay, fused glass or painted tiles, statuary of wire, wood, and mixed media. Hand-thrown plates, bowls, and vases fulfill form and function To cozy up a home, the show has hand-dyed silk pillows, and various candleholders. A variety of greeting cards is also among the offerings. The market at 1010 Broad St. continues to Dec. 31. Nearby, The Gallery at the Network, 788-B Higuera St., is holding its Artful Holiday Gift Show through the end of the month. More than 40 Central Coast artists offer handcrafted and original works of art, including paintings and prints of watercolors, oils, pastels and tempera batik. The show also features jewelry, sculpture, wood, glass, fiber and ceramics.

Besides offerings of the ongoing gallery artists, special guests and are Paula Tepplitz’s pottery, Emily Jagger’s ornaments, Janice Stone’s ceramic angels, Richard Happoldt and Maggie Pickering’s jewelry.

If jewelry is on your holiday gift list, the Frame Works, 339 Marsh St., is holding its Winter Jewelry Show featuring work by 12 local artisans. The jewelry ranges from a finely crafted turquoise, copper and pewter pendant by Jack Biesek to the whimsical necklace Sue Hogan created from colorful golf tees. 542-9000.

Linnaea’s coffee shop, 1110 Garden St., which supports local artists with ongoing exhibits, is urging everyone to buy the gift of art. For its current show Hang it All!, nothing is priced over $100. Work includes drawing and paintings in various mediums, photography, ceramic wall hangings, and mixed media. 541-5888.

On the other side of Santa Rosa St., at 1329 Monterey St., is Art Central. Half of the spacious art supply store is an art gallery.

Its Little Treasures show through the end of the month features work by 15 local artists in various mediums. Everything is priced below $100. 788-0887.
