A Coast Union High School business instructor has been formally charged by the San Luis Obispo County District Attorneys Office with five felonies relating to abuse of a spouse.
Walter Andy Vickrey, 48, pleaded not guilty Wednesday to two counts of a lewd act by a caretaker of a dependent, spousal rape, bodily injury of his spouse, and dissuading a witness.
Vickrey is scheduled to appear in San Luis Obispo Superior Court on Jan. 4 for a pre-preliminary hearing to set a date for the preliminary hearing in his case. He was arrested by Atascadero police on Nov. 12.
Vickrey has been on administrative leave from his position at Coast Union pending the developments of his criminal case. The school didn't immediately return a call to say whether his status has changed since the charges were filed.
