PG&E recently donated $38,189 to Cal Poly’s journalism department, which buys equipment for students in laboratories and field work, including Cal Poly’s television channel and campus radio station, according to a recent news release.

Harvey Levenson, interim chairman of the journalism department and head of the graphic communications department, said, “The students now have access to some of the most modern audio and video technology available in the journalism profession. This is the essence of putting into practice ‘learn by doing.’ ”
