Another attack on a state hospital worker occurred Tuesday morning at Atascadero State Hospital, spokesman Craig Dacus confirmed Wednesday.
At 11 a.m. Tuesday, several staff responded quickly to contain an aggressive patient who assaulted an employee, he said.
The employee, whose name and position was not disclosed, didnt need medical attention and returned to work following the incident, Dacus said.
No arrest was made, and the investigation is ongoing.
Details on what the employee's injuries were or where in the hospital the assault took place were not disclosed Wednesday afternoon.
ASH is a high-security state hospital located in southeast Atascadero that treats mentally ill inmates from the correctional system and other violent offenders.
The last attacks on ASH staff reported to The Tribune was in late November when the hospital said three assaults by patients occurred.
