A Los Osos couple has been arrested in connection with the theft of a purse from a local supermarket in mid-November, sheriffs officials said today.
Steven Levi Poole, 32, and Jeanna Marie Huss, 20, were arrested in early December on suspicion of grand theft, a felony, as well as receiving stolen property and conspiracy, among other charges.
They both remained in San Luis Obispo County Jail on Tuesday; Poole in lieu of $20,000 bail and Huss in lieu of $50,000 bail. Their next court appearance is scheduled for Dec. 19.
The alleged theft happened Nov. 19 at 9:26 p.m. at a Ralphs grocery store in Los Osos. According to a news release from the Sheriffs Office, deputies checked surveillance footage from the store and watched the theft take place, and saw the suspects get into a small pickup truck.
Other deputies spotted the truck on Dec. 2, and conducted a follow-up investigation that led to the arrests. The purse was recovered.
