The Cal Poly womens basketball team lost to Sacred Heart 89-69 on Sunday, despite getting a 24-point, 10-rebound performance out of senior forward Kristina Santiago.
Sacred Heart (9-1) held a 21-point lead with 4:14 left in the game, building off what was a 47-42 advantage at halftime.
Guard Ashlee Burns was the only other player to post double figures for the Mustangs (3-5), who shot 37.5 percent from the field and 27.8 percent from behind the 3-point arc. She had 11 points, two rebounds and two assists.
Guard Jonae Ervin had eight points.
WRESTLING
Oregon State 36, Cal Poly 6
Both Boris Novachkov and Ryan DesRoches won with decisions, but Cal Poly fell to Oregon State in a Pac-12 dual.
Novachkov, at 141 pounds, defeated Michael Mangrum 5-3, and DesRoches, at 174 pounds, defeated Ty Vinson 4-0 to remain undefeated on the year.
Those were the only two Mustangs to win.
SWIMMING AND DIVING
Cal Poly at Finis Collegiate Invitational
Cal Polys mens team and womens team each finished in first place.
On the womens side, Kylie France won the 400-yard individual medley in 4 minutes, 27.73 seconds Sunday.
Gloria Benefield won the 100 butterfly in 56.48 seconds, and Andrea Voight won the 200 freestyle in 1:52.97. Angie Haven won the 100 breaststroke in 1:06.20.
For the men, Konrad Antoniuk won the 400 individual medley in 4:10.20.
Christian Renfro finished first in the 200 freestyle in 1:42.57.
Both teams won the 200 medley relay and 800 freestyle relay races.
