LAS VEGAS — Mike Moser scored 14 points to top five players in double figures as UNLV beat Cal Poly 75-52 in the second round of the Las Vegas Invitational on Tuesday night.
The Rebels (5-0) led most of the way and shot 45 percent from the field. They took the lead midway through the first half on a pair of free throws by Anthony Marshall and led 29-22 at halftime.

Marshall finished with 13 points while Oscar Bellfield scored 12, Chace Stanback added 11 and Brice Massamba 10 for the Rebels. Massamba pulled down a game-high nine rebounds.
David Hanson led the Mustangs (2-2) with a season-high 17 points and eight rebounds.
Cal Poly suffered its first double-digit loss since falling 80-65 at Cal State Northridge on Jan. 22.
The Mustangs trailed by eight points with 13 minutes remaining before being held to just three during an eight-minute stretch in the second half.
They were their own worst enemy in their first game since Saturday’s 42-36 win at USC.
Cal Poly committed 19 turnovers, and the Rebels scored 31 points off those 19 turnovers. The Mustangs also only shot .317 (20 of 63) from the field.
Hanson was the only Cal Poly player to score in double figures. Jamal Johnson and Amaurys Fermin both scored nine points for the Mustangs. Fermin (4 of 8) was the only Cal Poly player who shot 50 percent or better from the floor.
Drake U’u had seven rebounds as Cal Poly held its own on the boards, being outrebounded 40-36. UNLV had nine blocked shots to none for Cal Poly.
The Mustangs will remain in Las Vegas this weekend when they will play Morgan State at 2 p.m. Friday in the next round of the Las Vegas Invitational. Cal Poly will then play either Tennessee State or Mississippi Valley State on Saturday.
Morgan State lost 65-62 at USC on Tuesday night.
