San Luis Obispo radio station KKJL, 1400 AM, is now simulcasting on 106.5 FM. The beautiful-music format station, known as K-Jewel Radio, is owned by Guy Hackman of San Luis Obispo and Kyle Ronemus of Cambria.
They purchased 106.5 FM from World Radio Link in June 2010.
Since 2003, KKJL 1400 has targeted listeners ages 45 and older with the music of Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Tony Bennett and other great jazz artists. The stations programming also can be heard on www.kkjl1400.com or www.kjewel.net.
Hackman purchased 1400 AM, then using the call letters KSLY, and 96.1 FM in 1986. Clear Channel now owns 96.1 FM, along with other area stations.
Hackman joined KSLY in 1972 as the station program director.
