Eight San Luis Obispo county teams received playoff berths Saturday as the PAC 7 and Coast Valley League will send three county teams, while the Los Padres League will send two to the CIF-Southern Section girls volleyball playoffs.
All first-round matches will be Tuesday at 7 p.m.
San Luis Obispo (26-6, 11-1 PAC 7) received the No. 1 spot out of the PAC 7 and will host Rancho Cucamonga in the first round of the Division 1A playoffs. Atascadero (17-11, 8-4) will play at Valencia, and Arroyo Grande (21-7, 10-2) will hit the road to take on Marlborough.
Templeton, which finished second in the LPL with a 21-12 (9-3 LPL) record, will host San Bernardino in the first round of the Division 3AA playoffs. Morro Bay (13-17, 7-5) will play Poly of Pasadena.
In the Division 5A playoffs, Coastal Christian (16-2-1, 11-1-0 CVL) clinched a first-round bye after defeating first-place Coast Union, 3-0, and Maricopa, 3-0, in their last two regular-season matches of the year, tying for first in the CVL. Coastal Christian will play at home in the second round Thursday.
The Broncos will take on Providence Hall on the road, and Shandon (12-10-1, 8-4) will play at Le Lycee.
FOOTBALL
Maricopa 68, North County Christian 48
Seniors led the way for the Crusaders (3-5, 1-3 CVL) in the regular-season finale loss.
Senior Keelan Willison threw six touchdowns passes.
Five of them were to senior Daniel Katchens, and senior Adam Bossom caught the other pass.
It was Maricopas first win of the year.
BOYS WATER POLO
Malibu 8, Arroyo Grande 6
The Eagles (18-11) lost a nonconference match after giving up two goals in the final minute.
Tanner Sandman led Arroyo Grande with two goals. Dennis Meffert, Roberto Dessi, Jack Empey and Nick Chapman all had one goal.
Clint Doucette made seven saves.
