The county planning commission unanimously approved a project Thursday that will allow San Luis Obispo-based Level Studios to build a larger headquarters and hire new employees.
The company, which specializes in digital integrated marketing and product development, plans to construct a 46,000-square-foot office building located across from the southern end of the San Luis Obispo County Airport.
We are busting at the seams with our current square footage, spokeswoman Alexandra Hughmanick said.
The project is the first to be by the county planning department through a new economic strategy project designed to bring job growth and strengthen the local economy.
The new building would be able to house a staff of at least 300 people, though the first phase will include 185 employees. The current, 19,366-square-foot headquarters on Broad Street accommodates a workforce of about 150, Hughmanick said. She said the company plans to break ground next year.
