Man whose body was found off Pismo Beach likely drowned, Sheriff's Office says

Dylan Winebrenner, whose body was found floating in the ocean off Pismo Beach a month ago, likely drowned.

It often takes six weeks to get the final report from the doctor who performed the autopsy, but the 32-year-old Shell Beach man is presumed drowned, said Rob Bryn, San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office spokesman.

Police recovered Winebrenner’s body 200 yards off Dinosaur Cave Park on Oct. 1. He had been last seen a week earlier and his dog was found alone on a remote section of coastline in Pismo Beach.

Police said foul play was not suspected.
