North County Christian High scored just one touchdown, a 2-yard run from Daniel Katches in the second quarter, in an 80-6 football loss to Cuyama Valley on Saturday.
Quarterback Keelan Willison was 11 for 23 passing with 77 yards and three interceptions for the Crusaders (3-4, 1-2 Coast Valley League), and Katches paced North County Christian with nine catches for 56 yards and four rushes for 23 yards and one touchdown.
The Crusaders committed eight turnovers in the loss to the undefeated Bears (7-0, 3-0 CVL).
Arroyo Grande boys water polo team goes 2-1
The Arroyo Grande boys water polo team went 2-1 on the second and final day of the Servite Tournament.
Tanner Sandman and Nick Valente both scored three goals for the Eagles (17-9, 9-2 PAC 7), and goalie Chandler Mankins had three saves in goal in a 14-2 win over University to open the day.
Cisco Bass scored four goals to lead Arroyo Grande to a 10-6 victory over Los Altos in game two. Sandman had three goals and Clint Doucette had 10 saves in goal.
The Eagles lost their last game to Valencia, 7-6. Tanner Mankins had four goals, and Doucette recorded five saves.
