Each day, dispatchers from the seven police departments in San Luis Obispo County take dozens of calls from residents seeking help for issues ranging from minor disputes to serious crimes. The Tribune provides coverage of serious crimes every day on its news pages.

Pick a fight
7:59 p.m. Oct. 16, 690 Cypress St. in Pismo Beach
A woman was running up to men and slapping them at Harry’s Nightclub and Beach Bar for no reason. The older woman was apparently challenging men to fight. The woman left before officers arrived.
Just say no
1:24 p.m. Oct. 17, Addie lot in Pismo Beach
A man was smoking crack in a black Honda Civic. He was arrested.
Halloween fright
3:18 p.m. Oct. 17, 700 Bello St. in Pismo Beach
Someone reported a menacing man with grass shears. Officers were unable to locate him.
Poop patrol
11:23 p.m. Oct. 17, 2314 Amber Grain Place in Paso Robles
A resident said he had an ongoing issue with his neighbors allowing their dog to go to the bathroom on his lawn each night. The dog was a large German shepherd. An officer arrived but said the dog’s owners were asleep and he would not attempt contact. Animal Services was to be notified.
I spy a spy
10:31 a.m. Oct. 18, 200 Fairview Lane in Paso Robles
A resident said a black Acura SUV had been in the neighborhood all morning. The male driver would park for 20 to 30 minutes and then move a few houses away. Officers said it was a private investigator. He was advised to notify police of his presence next time.

11:51 a.m. Oct. 18, 224 Oak Meadow Lane in Paso Robles
A man came to the police department lobby to report the theft of tools over an extended period of time. He claimed the loss was more than $50,000. He had no suspect information. The man did not have a list of items stolen, just said it was a generic “loss of tools that are $50,000.”

11:15 a.m. Oct. 19, 180 Niblick Road in Paso Robles
Several subjects reported a gray goose wandering in the parking lot at Walmart.
Scream
10:17 p.m. Oct. 19, 625 Olive St. in Paso Robles
A female said she was babysitting and heard someone walking outside. She said the automatic back lights came on and a dog was barking. Officers checked and said the sounds she heard were the dogs.
Parent troubles
6:05 p.m. Oct. 20, 6th Street in Paso Robles
A father got into an argument with his 11-year-old son’s coach because he was not allowing the boy to play soccer. The father was upset his son was kicked off the team due to poor grades.
