A 32-year-old Oceanside man will be sentenced next month in San Luis Obispo Superior Court for his conviction on three counts of sex crimes against a local girl.

A jury convicted Jackson Sullivan McGuire on Wednesday of three counts of lewd acts when the girl was between the ages of about 9 and 13.
Two of the incidents occurred in the Oceanside and Carlsbad areas in San Diego County when the girl was about 9 or 10. A third crime occurred in Cambria when the girl — who lives in San Luis Obispo County — was about 12 or 13, according to authorities.
The first of the crimes occurred on or about March 26, 2002, the second happened sometime between 2002 and 2004, and the third took place between 2005 and 2007, according to prosecutors. The girl couldn’t remember the exact dates of the latter two incidents.
McGuire and the girl had known each other for years and had family ties, but they weren’t relatives.
A jury found McGuire guilty of the crimes of kissing the girl’s breasts, oral copulation and digital penetration — all felony lewd acts against a child younger than 14.
San Luis Obispo County Deputy District Attorney Greg Devitt prosecuted the case, and local lawyer Ilan Funke-Bilu represented McGuire in the case heard by Judge Teresa Estrada-Mullaney.
McGuire faces a minimum of three years in state prison and a maximum of 12 years at his sentencing scheduled for Nov. 16 before Estrada-Mullaney.
The trial, which took a few days to complete, is the second time the case went before a jury.
A different jury deadlocked in 2010 with 11 jurors in favor of guilt and one against.
The county District Attorney’s Office chose to retry the case.
