Students at four elementary schools in the South County will showcase some of the work theyve created in the afterschool Bright Futures program during an event today. The Lights on Afterschool event, which is intended to draw attention to afterschool programs, will be at Dana, Fairgrove, Harloe and Oceano elementary schools. Students will hold performances, prepare and sell food and display some arts and crafts theyve made in the program.
Ten schools in the Lucia Mar Unified School District participate in Bright Futures, which extends the school day with homework clubs and classes to enhance student learning.
