The citizens advisory group for the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary are to meet in Cambria on Thursday.
The sanctuary stretches from Cambria to Marin County. Its advisory council is to meet in the Santa Rosa Catholic Church parish hall at 1174 Main St., Cambria. The daylong meeting is scheduled to begin about 8:45 a.m., break for lunch at 12:15 p.m. and start an afternoon session at 1:15 p.m.
Agenda items include a review of collaborative fishing efforts in the sanctuary, scheduled to start at 10 a.m.; a report on the sanctuarys southern region, including the Coastal Discovery Center in San Simeon, 10:45 a.m.; whats called an ecosystem-based management initiative, 11:45 a.m.; and the history of northern elephant seals and the Piedras Blancas rookery, 2:30 p.m.
