A Santa Maria man has been identified as a suspect in an Aug. 14 home-invasion robbery in which he allegedly pistol-whipped a man and left two adult brothers bound inside a home on the 2300 block of Callender Road on the Nipomo Mesa.
Silas Nathaniel Kanady, 23, will be charged today with kidnap to commit robbery, first-degree robbery, assault with a deadly weapon, burglary, dissuading a victim and false imprisonment, according to the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Department.
Kanady is currently being held at Santa Barbara County Jail because hes a suspect in a similar crime in Santa Maria.
Authorities in Santa Barbara County plan to charge him today with the San Luis Obispo County crime. He's slated to appear at Santa Barbara County Superior Court simultaneously for both cases, officials said.
Kanady is being charged with dissuading a victim because he is alleged to have told the two victims that he knew where their mother lived ... in an attempt to get them not to report (the crime), San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Department spokesman Rob Bryn said.
Kanady was identified as one of two men wanted in connection with the Nipomo Mesa home-invasion robbery.
Authorities are still seeking the other suspect. That person's description was unavailable Wednesday.
