The French Hospital Medical Center Foundation recently raised $120,000 during its annual “Celebration of Caring” Gala in August.
Funds support programs and services at the hospital, including immediate assistance to cancer patients and their families.
The 2011 Louis Tedone, M.D. Humanitarian Award was presented to San Luis Ambulance owners Frank and Betsey Kelton.
Frank Kelton helped create the San Luis Ambulance Explorer volunteer and scholarship program.
Betsey Kelton, president of the Women’s Shelter Program of San Luis Obispo County, has held volunteer leadership roles with the American Heart Association, Hospice Partners of the Central Coast, LifeSpan and Project LifeSaver.
