Nipomo Highs girls cross country team won the Division 4 title Saturday at the Cal Poly Invitational at the Fairbanks Cross Country Course.
Nipomo scored 15 points to 50 for runner-up Washington Union.
Mission Prep, which raced in Division 5, placed second with 46 points to 20 for St. Joseph.
Nipomo was paced by Gracie Albano, who finished 12th overall and first in the division with a time of 20 minutes, 25.5 seconds over the 5K course. Teammates Cassie Dittenhoefer (20:42.4) finished 14th, and Morgan Herlihy finished 38th (22:38.8).
For the Royals, Rachel Frye finished in seventh pace to lead Mission Prep with a time of 20:24.1. Demitria Castanon (22:19.9) finished 25th, and Marie Frye (22:23.7) finished 36th.
The Mission Prep boys cross country team placed first in the Division 5 race with 26 points to 29 for Midlands, the only other complete team. Ethan Hopwood finished 36th with a time of 18:08.4.
The Nipomo boys placed third in Division 4, led by Alex Hascall (17:30.9), who finished 19th for the Titans.
BOYS WATER POLO
Oxnard Tournament
San Luis Obispo (16-9) went 1-1 on the second and last day of the tournament, losing to Cabrillo 7-4 before defeating Camarillo 8-4 in game two.
Nick Bea had two goals to lead the Tigers against Cabrillo, and Nick Eaton had two to pace the offense against Camarillo.
Santa Maria Tournament
On the second day of the tournament, Morro Bay (5-15) started off strong with a 17-5 victory over Hueneme.
D.J. Marcy led the Pirates with six goals in the game, and Marco Maffioli and Grant Johnson each scored four goals.
Morro Bay advanced to the championship game against Righettis JV squad, where the Pirates lost 13-4. Johnson, Maffioli, Kai Shwennicke and Mac Reinhart all scored one goal for Morro Bay.
GIRLS TENNIS
Capistrano Valley Christian 10, Mission Prep 8
Despite the loss, the Royals (3-8, PAC 7) had a strong showing from the doubles team of Ricquel Santos and Sophie Seid, who swept their opponents 6-2, 6-3, 6-1. Mission Preps Ruslana Cannell won two of her matches, finishing 1-6, 6-2, 6-1 in the match.
