Despite coming off a five-goal victory over UC Riverside Sunday, the Cal Poly mens soccer team (5-5-2, 2-2 Big West) couldnt put one past Cal State Northridge goalkeeper Michael Albalos as the Mustangs were shut out for the sixth time this season in a 2-0 loss Tuesday at Alex G. Spanos Stadium.
The Matadors (6-5-1, 3-1) snapped an eight-game losing streak versus the Mustangs and surpassed Cal Poly in the Big West standings to move into a tie for first with UC Irvine. The Mustangs are now in a tie for third with UC Santa Barbara and UC Davis.
