12:06 p.m. Sept. 18, 2411 Price St. in Pismo Beach

A woman said she and her husband stayed at the Lighthouse Suites the other night and accidentally left more than $4,000 under the pillow when they left. When she called the hotel, they told her nothing was found in the room.

Overly cautious

3:41 p.m. Sept. 18, 197 Park Ave. in Pismo Beach

A man called 911 and said he wanted to prompt his phone in case he needed to hit redial. He then denied anything was wrong. Dispatchers asked that officers check on the man and advise him of 911 use. Officers said the man was fine, but he had been drinking.

No bones about it

5:07 p.m. Sept. 18, Vista Del Mar in Pismo Beach

A woman said she believes the bones she found on the beach are not from a sea mammal. Officers arrived and said they were from a seal.

Really bad scammers

12:49 p.m. Sept. 19, 139 Irish Way in Pismo Beach

A woman said her mother received a call from an unknown person asking her to go to Walmart and buy a $500 lottery ticket, and then meet them at Walmart to give them the ticket. The woman said her mother is hard of hearing and was unable to retain any further information.

9:01 a.m. Sept. 20, 138 Orange Drive in San Luis Obispo

Benches had been nailed to a roof.

Storage wars

10:26 a.m. Sept. 20, 2 James Way in Pismo Beach

A man came into a business in the Pismo Medical Plaza and asked that the office store his medication and dispose of his syringes. Staffers told the man they didn’t have the appropriate disposal or storage, but he wouldn’t take no for an answer. He left all the items on the counter and ran off. An officer collected the items for disposal.

Case of the missing utility worker

6:16 p.m. Sept. 21, 280 Hathway Ave. in San Luis Obispo

An extension ladder was propped up against a power pole. Nobody was on it.

Bounty hunter

4:26 p.m. Sept. 22, Shell Beach tennis courts

A man in a gold sedan carried 10 heavy plastic grocery bags into the portable toilets and dumped each one, according to a witness. The witness went to see what was being disposed of, but the subject covered “it” with lots of paper towels. An officer checked and said it just appeared to be a large amount of paper towels.

11:09 a.m. Sept. 23, 1237 Archer St. in San Luis Obispo

A resident had a recurring problem with a transient defecating on the resident’s property.

9:10 p.m. Sept. 23, 591 Pacific St. in San Luis Obispo

A man was breaking a guitar against a building.

11:19 p.m. Sept. 23, 193 Foothill Blvd. in San Luis Obispo

A traffic sign was reportedly flashing vulgarities.

1:52 a.m. Sept. 24, 1024 Nipomo St. in San Luis Obispo

A man called 911, said hello, and then hung up.
