Halftime updates

Arroyo Grande vs. Atascadero: Arroyo Grande High's Henry Adelman is proving to be too much for Atascadero tonight as the senior running back scored four first-half touchdowns to give the Eagles a 28-6 halftime lead in the PAC 7 opener for both teams in Atascadero.

Adelman scored on 5-, 3-, 1- and 2-yard rushes against Atascadero, and gained 27 yards off eight carries. He also had three rushing touchdown runs in last week's 56-21 nonleague win over Cabrillo.

Robert Berwick found Logan Sprouse on a 10-yard touchdown pass to score Atascadero’s first points of the half with just one second left in the second quarter.

On the ground, Deontae Barnes leads Atascadero with 50 yards off 12 carries.

Berwick has also gone 7-of-15 passing with 71 yards, a touchdown and interception.

Arroyo Grande quarterback Brent VanderVeen is 5-of-9 passing for 79 yards and rushed six times for 30 yards.

San Luis Obispo vs. Paso Robles: The San Luis Obispo High football team’s offense broke a few eggs in the first quarter, but fullback Jacob Flores saved the Tigers’ bacon by the half in tonight's PAC 7 game at Holt Field.

Looking to beat Paso Robles for the first time since 2006, San Luis Obispo led Paso Robles 18-13 at halftime with two touchdowns on 159 yards rushing by Flores and a wild passing touchdown that came off a tipped pass by the reigning Tribune County Player of the Year.

The Tigers lost two fumbles in the first quarter and fell behind by scores of 7-0 and 13-6 before taking the lead on a 57-yard run by Flores late in the second quarter.

Flores also scored on a 31-yard run, and the other San Luis Obispo touchdown was scored on a 32-yard pass to Trevor McGuire on third-and-long.

Backpedalling toward midfield, Tigers quarterback Garrett Giovannelli threw a lob in the air toward two Bearcats defenders. Safety Elias Stokes leapt up to intercept the pass, but when it bobbled out of his hands, McGuire snuck by to haul in the deflection.

Paso Robles scored its touchdowns on a 27-yard screen pass from Stokes to Dakota Salazar and a 1-yard run by Colton Maadrigal.

More scores:

  • Pioneer Valley 10, Morro Bay 7
