Deputies have arrested a sixth suspect in the killing of a 32-year-old Guadalupe man whose body was found near a Nipomo broccoli field last year.
Maria Lucy Saucedo, 44, of Guadalupe was arrested Friday on suspicion of being an accessory to murder, and murder connected to gang activity, according to a San Luis Obispo County Sheriffs Department news release.
Authorities accuse Saucedo in the killing of 32-year-old Pedro Gonzalez of Guadalupe.
In February 2010, a worker from San Ysidro Farms discovered Gonzalezs body next to a broccoli field about a quarter-mile from Division Street amid hundreds of acres of farmland and about a half-mile from the nearest house.
Five other suspects have already been taken into custody and charged in connection with the homicide, sheriffs officials said. Authorities say that Gonzalez had been shot.
Saucedo remained in custody Monday at the San Luis Obispo County Jail, where she is being held in lieu of $250,000 bail.
