A multi-agency gang sweep in Paso Robles took place over the weekend as part of an effort to curb violent crime in the North County.
The crackdown on Friday and Saturday resulted in 28 arrests and 19 traffic citations, according to a news release from Paso Robles police. The goal was contacting, identifying, and arresting gang members but maintained a zero-tolerance approach to any criminal activity.
The arrests included narcotics, parole, arrest warrant, and probation violations as well as drunken driving, reckless driving, driving without a license, and right-of-way citations.
The Safe Streets operation was coordinated by the Paso Robles Police Department, San Luis Obispo County Sheriffs Department, County Probation and state Parole officials. Enforcement operations will continue into the future for an indefinite period of time, Paso Robles police said.
