Government Watch: A roundup of this week’s agendas

Arroyo Grande City Council/Redevelopment Agency. Meets Tuesday, 7 p.m. 473-5400. On the agenda: consider extending an interim affordable housing loan agreement with Habitat for Humanity; consider an offer of sale for a billboard at 145 E. Branch St. and the loan agreement between the city and the redevelopment agency.

Atascadero City Council. Meets Tuesday. 461-5000. Determine whether to continue priority projects for the redevelopment agency while the state Supreme Court reviews Gov. Jerry Brown’s push to dismantle the agencies; $1 million contract to design the downtown pedestrian bridge and Centennial Plaza projects; consider angled parking on El Camino Real between Morro Road and Traffic Way; reject all bids for the Lake Park Sign and Frontage project and rebid.

Atascadero Unified School District board of trustees. Meets Tuesday, 6:30 p.m. 462-2400. On the agenda: Review of the revised Atascadero High School master plan; update on school improvement bond projects.

County Board of Supervisors. Meets Tuesday. 9 a.m. County government building, 1055 Monterey St., San Luis Obispo 781-5011. On the agenda: Buying an airport sweeper at the San Luis Obispo County Regional Airport; selling surplus land in California Valley; status report on Oceano flood mitigation efforts; adding a county representative to a peer-review panel studying seismic activity related to the Diablo Canyon nuclear power plant.

Pismo Beach Planning Commission. Meets Tuesday. 773-4658. On the agenda: continued public hearing for a development permit to construct a 10,148 square-foot fire station and related improvements on a vacant lot at 65 Ventana Road; a presentation of the urban water management plan.

Templeton Community Services District. Meets Tuesday. 434-4900. Review of proposed ban on plastic and paper carryout bags.

Lucia Mar Unified School District Board of Trustees. Meets Tuesday. 474-3000. Interviews of applicants for the open school board seat.

  • Stay on topic. Only post comments relevant to the article at hand. If you want to discuss an issue with a specific user, click on his profile name and leave him a public message.
  • Do not copy and paste outside material into the comment box.
  • Don't repeat the same comment over and over. We heard you the first time.
  • Do not use the commenting system for advertising. That's spam and it isn't allowed.
  • Don't use all capital letters. That's akin to yelling and not appreciated by the audience.

You also may notify us via email at webmaster@thetribunenews.com. Note the headline on which the comment is made and tell us the profile name of the user who made the comment. Remember, comment moderation is subjective. You may find some material objectionable that we won't and vice versa.

Users cannot remove their own comments once they have submitted them, but you may ask our staff to retract one of your comments by sending an email to webmaster@thetribunenews.com.
