Dog Splash Days are coming up over the weekend at Templeton Community Park. All proceeds benefit the Vineyard Dog Park in Templeton. Admission is $20. courtesy of Parks4pups

Dog Splash Days at Templeton Community Park will be Friday through Sunday.

Doggie swim times will be from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Friday for little or senior dogs, 3 to 6 p.m. Friday for all dogs and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday for all dogs. Admission of $20 includes a raffle ticket for doggy and people treats.

Proceeds benefit Vineyard Dog Park in Templeton. Owner must bring paper proof of current rabies vaccination. No unneutered adult dogs and no puppies younger than 4 months.

The Creston Classic Rodeo will be Friday through Sunday in downtown Creston. Activities include jackpot team roping, rodeo queen contest, team bronco riding, a Rodeo Barn Dance at the Loading Chute, Cowboy Church, mutton bustin’ and more rodeo events.

The Atascadero Horsemen’s Club will meet at Shady Oaks Equestrian Center, 5010 San Benito Ave. in Atascadero at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Cezanne De Cristoforo, a certified Parelli horse trainer, will give a presentation at 6:30 p.m., with a general meeting at 7:30 p.m.

Buy a 2012 13-month Love ’Em wall calendar for $12.99 plus tax from the San Luis Obispo County Animal Shelter. Each month, the calendar highlights a dog or cat that was once homeless but now has a family. Most featured pets are ones that found their homes through this column.

All calendar proceeds will support Animal Shelter Adoption Partners’ ongoing community education efforts to reduce the number of dogs and cats dropped off at the San Luis Obispo County Animal Shelter.

The TOO SLO Chapter of the California Turtle and Tortoise Club will present a Turtle, Tortoise and Reptile Show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 17 at the Veterans Memorial Building at 801 Grand Ave. in San Luis Obispo.

The event will feature exotic turtles and tortoises, a reptile display, educational exhibits, conservation groups, care and adoption information and raffle prizes.
