Gravity of the situation

2:47 p.m. Aug. 21, 2665 Shell Beach Road in Pismo Beach

A man called police and said someone walked into his office and took his sandwich and his camera. He thought it might be a transient in the area. He called back a few minutes later to say the sandwich and camera had fallen behind the carpet.

Dude, find your own car

10:46 a.m. Aug. 21, 280 Wadsworth Ave. in Pismo Beach

A man said his vehicle was stolen. He was uncooperative with dispatchers and said only that it was stolen from Pismo Beach and that “we should know where it is.” He was unable to say where it was last seen, but said the keys were on the seat. A half-hour later, the vehicle was located and the man went to get it.

No dogs were hurt

3:07 p.m. Aug. 22, North Beach campground in Pismo Beach

A fire hydrant exploded.

You just asked the government for help

8:07 p.m. Aug. 22, Police Department lobby in Pismo Beach

A citizen requested to speak with an officer over concerns that a friend who works for the CIA has been compromised by the government. Extra patrol was requested for the house.

Intruder alert

4:14 a.m. Aug. 25, 700 block of Vista Pacifica Circle in Pismo Beach

A woman said she was awakened by her dog barking and wanting to go outside. The dog went straight to the backyard fence and began barking at the James Way side. She said no one was seen and nothing was heard other than the barking. It was strange behavior for her English bulldog. The dog was friendly to visitors. Officers arrived and checked out the area, and determined the dog was barking at a raccoon. The woman was advised to call Animal Services if the raccoon became a nuisance.

Hooligan horticulturists

10:42 a.m. Aug. 25, 1301 Cecelia Court in San Luis Obispo

Approximately 10 branches were cut off a tree in a resident’s front yard.

Eek, a mouse

8:08 a.m. Aug. 25, 279 Branch St. in San Luis Obispo

A dead rodent was found at a doorstep. The person who found it was not comfortable throwing it away.

2:09 a.m. Aug. 26, 799 Chorro St. in San Luis Obispo

A person was lying down on top of a 30-pack of beer.

Truant telly

1:38 p.m. Aug. 27, 1765 Vicente Drive in San Luis Obispo

A TV appeared in front of a resident’s house. It was marked with a school district label.
