Former Cal Poly outfielder Logan Schafer is one of three players that was set to be called up by the Milwaukee Brewers on Thursday.
It will be the first time Schafer has been called up to the Brewers Major League 40-man roster, making him the fourth Cal Poly alumnus currently playing in the majors.
Prior to being called up, Schafer hit .331 with five home runs, two triples and 23 RBI in 40 games with the Nashville Sounds, the Brewers AAA affiliate.
Schafer, who was selected in the third round of the 2008 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft, was a first-team All-Big West honoree after hitting .365 with 17 doubles, nine home runs and 49 RBI as a junior at Cal Poly.
