The public is invited to participate in a series of disaster-preparedness classes beginning Sept. 28 in downtown Paso Robles.
The cost is $40, which includes a student manual, helmet, gloves, vest and goggles.

Learn what to do during a disaster at classes in Paso Robles
The Paso Robles Department of Emergency Services is hosting the Community Emergency Response Team training courses at its Public Safety Center, 900 Park St.
Turning off utilities, basic firefighting skills, basic medical skills, hazardous materials awareness, light search and rescue techniques and self-reliance during times of emergency are among the topics.
The classes are planned for Wednesday evenings from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. from Sept. 28 to Oct. 19.
Pre-registration is required. Due to limited seating, North County residents will be given first consideration for registration, according to www.northslococert.org. To enroll, call Judy Bremer at 227-7560 or email jbremer@prcity.com.
