Eight law enforcement agencies conducted a probation sweep on the North Coast on Tuesday night that resulted in 20 arrests.
The operation involved 60 people and targeted 41 individuals on parole or probation. Authorities showed up at the homes of parolees and probationers to check on whether they were obeying the terms of their release.
Others who were not on probation or parole were arrested when they were alleged to be breaking the law. Two of the cases resulted in Child Protective Services getting involved because parents had endangered their children, according to the Sheriffs Department.
Agencies involved in the operation included the Sheriffs Department, Morro Bay police, San Luis Obispo County Probation, San Luis Obispo County Code Enforcement and Atascadero State Hospital. State and federal agencies also participated.
